At ABCO Fire Protection, the strength of our organization comes from a solid work ethic inherent within our service team as well applying the appropriate leadership and direction to help all individuals achieve excellence. In 2008, under the direction of Bob Titmas, ABCO implemented the "L.E.A.D.E.R.S.H.I.P" program to encourage and help develop every leader at ABCO. ABCO believes each employee has leadership capabilities and developed a monthly program that has allowed each employee to grow personally and professionally.
Our program kicked off in February 2008, and began with the "L" for leadership, and emphasized the importance of offering community service and leading yourself, your family, your finances, as well as understanding ABCO's "managing by 12 Questions" philosophy. The ABCO leadership program continued throughout 2008 with the following themes:
March LEADERSHIP Energy - highlights the necessity of physical fitness with a "Walk your Way to Fitness" campaign, personal energy, eating healthy and general wellness.
April LEADERSHIP Awareness - highlights personal safety, Stranger Danger, Identity Theft, Environmental appreciation and a variety of social issues.
May LEADERSHIP Driving - highlights road safety, defensive driving tips, vehicle maintenance checks and a fun "Pole Position" simulation video game.
June LEADERSHIP Education - highlights the importance of industry training and educational workshops. A summer employee "Book Club" was offered. Click here for Bob's recommended readings!
July LEADERSHIP Recreation - featuring an ABCO sponsored Family Bike Ride and Picnic along the Cuyahoga Valley National Park Trail, providing door prizes donated by industry manufacturers as well as the First Annual ABCO Cornhole Tournament.
August LEADERSHIP Style - Personal style and learning to dress for success, uniform specifications, accessorizing offices, and on-site fashion consultation.
September LEADERSHIP HOPE - At ABCO, we want everyone to dream big. With HOPE all things are possible. The theme of "hope" is to consider giving hope to others through our community and charitable contributions. Encouraging fellowship gatherings as a team and a variety of spirit rejuvinating activities.
October LEADERSHIP Involvement - Make a Difference! Get involved with your local Fire Department and consider volunteering. Celebrate Fire Prevention Week and Campus Fire Safety Month . ABCO offering Fire Safety Month promotions and philanthropic work.
November LEADERSHIP Preparation - Goal setting, target setting and strategic planning for the impending year.
