Job Title: Lead Installer, Engineered Full Time

Reports To: Department Manager

Location: 4545 W. 160th Street Cleveland, OH

Overview

ABCO is currently seeking an experienced Lead Special Hazards/Fire Suppression Installation Technician in the Cleveland, OH area with outstanding customer service skills to join our installation team. This position requires the ability to install and service fire protections systems in commercial and industrial buildings according to standards.

Duties and Responsibilities

Responsibilities of the job include but are not limited to:

  • Installation of special hazard suppression systems FM-200, Novec 1230, HPCO2, Pre-engineered Industrial systems by Ansul, Kidde, Janus, and Firetrace
  • Identify code and non-conformance issues and ensure deficiencies found are promptly reported and documented
  • Perform fire marshal acceptance tests
  • Schedule inspections, testing, and repairs of fire suppression systems with customers at requires intervals
  • Maintain proper and accurate documentation in accordance with company standards
  • Present a professional appearance and attitude at all times while on job sites, operating a company vehicle, or on company property
  • Maintain company owned vehicle and tools clean and organized
  • Adhere to company safe working policies and procedures at all times

Skills and specifications

  • Minimum 3-5 years’ previous related suppression experience
  • Must have Ohio State Fire Marshal, Fire Alarm and Detection, Pre-Engineered Extinguishing Equipment, Engineered Extinguishing Equipment certifications
  • Ability to obtain high level security clearance (if required)
  • Ability to install EMT and Rigid conduit
  • Ability to install high pressure pipe from ½” to 4” (threaded and/or grooved)
  • Ability to read and follow blueprints
  • Experience with Firetrace system a plus
  • Thorough understanding of NFPA, manufacturer, and local fire code for suppression systems
  • Must be self-motivated
  • Ability to lift 50+ pounds above head
  • Excellent communication skills, decision making skills, and a positive customer service attitude
  • Must have a valid driver’s license with less than 6 points, and pass pre-employment background and drug screenings
